First Real Speakers - Page 3

I'd go for a quality 2.1 setup with a 5.1/7.1 receiver, that way if you really want surround you can get matching rears and center later on.
If you want real bass something along the lines of the Hsu sub mentioned would do the trick.

Myself I'm at the point where I am looking at speakers for rears and center as I have a nice 2.1 setup now and would like to be able to watch movies/shows and play games in surround.

I use a yamaha RX467 (250) and some Polk Audio R150's (100 a pair) they push out enough bass that you don't even need a sub. They're amazing speakers and it's an amazing receiver. Your card should have an HDMI out on it so you can run the HDMI to the receiver. No need for a sound card biggrin.gif

What do you mean by "your card should have an hdmi...no need for a sound card"?

Can you like, show a pic? I don't really get how I can hookup speakers to my computer if they go to a receiver.

Buy what Pio recommends and some 14 AWG speaker wire, burn the set in, and you are set.

Its the end all of affordable desktop speaker combos, even without the sub.

Ive just been using the speakers and Amp combo for the past forever and a day, and I still dont feel the need to buy the sub.

With 3 day Fed Ex shipping I spent a little under $90(needed more speaker wire anyway), and came out with a fantastic 2 channel system where I dont really feel a need for a Sub, which is rare for me. I always feel the need for a Sub.

Yeah I tested out the speakers first without the sub and they sound fantastic.
