Are you serious? Show some respect and take what you are given; if you don't like it suck it up and quit complaining, or better yet, go spend $500 of your own money on a better card.

^this
I'd gladly take the 560 Ti off your hands and call it an awesome day since my sig rig with the SLI 560 Ti's was stolen.

I'm telling you right now, I'll trade both my Unlocked 6950 and locked 6950 with the Twin Turbo pro II on it for one of these cards.

The problem with news sites is that they are quite simply there own worst enemy's providing technically the "correct" info but only correct to a certain person. That NOT being your average Joe customer.

An example would by a news article recently posted saying that the 7970 will be $475 rather than $550. (like this one)

Excellent news I hear you all cheer!

Well... News sites are usually correct in saying pricing is "X" however that pricing is the price that HIS, Asus etc sell the cards at into distribution. Once the Dist has added there 1-2% and sold to an etailer the etailer makes their margin. On a new release like this that pushes pricing up from $475 to $550-600 so the previous estimate is actually going to be the correct one. Add to this adding VAT or TAX (depending on where you live) and you have a card that once again is where the original rumors were at $650-750 or possibly even more.

That's £450 to £500 inclusive if you in the UK.

I can go through my ACE Event Viewer and show you about 5~10 hardware faults an hour by just my 6990 just sitting idle on the desktop. The drivers need serious work still, especially for CrossfireX.
You don't have to be pro-nVidia to realize the drivers need a lot of work.
Sure, it'll be about 35 USD an hour for support. smile.gif

Yeah the only problem with that analogy is the 580 is about twice the price of a 560 Ti whereas the 7970 is priced a lot closer to the 580 and once you include overclocking potential on the 7970, it's a much more compelling case to upgrade.

Dang...So this $599 price tag, for an ASUS AMD HD7970 3GD5 at Frys Electronics, must be a typo...

Some people will be willing to pay nearly anything for these cards. They may say $475, but any store with 7970 stock will either sell out in 5 seconds or charge over $600.
