I agree with the price being very reasonable and worth the upgrade if you were planning on getting a 570/580 but not if you've already got one or more.

I meant 30% increase over a 580 would be at a push after overclocking and the 35% is at a push from a 570. 15% -20% improvement seems to be what benchmarks suggest at stock (except it's a bit more for a few benchmarks)

Most around here are hook line and sinker with this card.
You'd believe anything, all from people who have not purchased the card but are sent it for reviews.
Lets see how they do in the wild cus i sure can tell you they have not gotten cheaper wink.gif

Actually, for those of us who bought day one, we got them for $260. What happened was that the initial supply basically ran out in like 1 or 2 days, so everyone started massive price gouging since cards were literally sold before they even arrived at resellers warehouses.

Hopefully won't happen this time around as AMD "supposedly" has more than enough in stock to meet demand.

Yep, I remember paying $260 for my 5850 on the first day they were available on Newegg. I used the card for like 4 months and sold it for $285. That is what I call awesome! smile.gif

Legit Reviews reached out to AMD and they said that they were not aware of a price drop and that the original price reported by Donanimhaber is incorrect. LR still expects to see cards listed for $550 when they go on sale next week.

Gah frown.gif Oh well, it's understandable. It's a high price but it's not extortionate.

And if you search up 7970 on newegg, not a single one is in stock hahahahaha
