Assist in picking a new cpu for me between $200-$330

Thread Starter
My current choices are an Intel i7 2600K, AMD FX 8150, Intel i5 2500K

I know that soon AMD should be releasing second gen FX series cpus and Intel is releasing Ivy Bridge.

I love AMD though I know Intel is kicking their butt in performance right now and I feel like the eight core versions can't be used correctly with out the right software and Windows 8 isn't out yet.

I haven't a clue what pricing the Ivy Bridge will have. If it's reasonable I'll get it, if not, I might choose an i7, might be cheaper then.

Any thoughts on me sticking with AMD? Cause I will support AMD over Intel (and Nvidia) almost any day, but I do like getting money's worth.
Any pricing leaked for Ivy Bridge?

I will build this the end of Feb, so it should be in time.

I5 2500k now for sure or wait for Ivy. Its being released on 8th April 2012 and will be within your budget i would have thought. If you look on the OCN homepage, theres a news thread with leaked prices.

AMD hasnt got many good new gen chips out. BullDozer is pretty rubbish. I always liked AMD but made the swap for the first time to INTEL and i'd never go back!
