How on earth did you run it ok on ultra at 1080p?

Btw try my OC and see how it goes, i have exactly the same card, I've been running this for over a year, it gives a pretty nice boost biggrin.gif

420

Its also the memory that gives you the biggest FPS increase wink.gif

My card won't exceed 860 while still being stable, even on max voltage. So no can do.

You still should increase the memory also, it will make a much bigger difference smile.gif. As far as the stuttering goes try putting VSync on as Bo_Punk mentioned and and lower the settings until you get a solid 60FPS, then it should be smooth, BF3 isn't going to run very well anyway on a 768mb 460, especially at 1080P as it requires more VRAM than other games.

Ok, so I just tried MW3 and Crysis. MW3 ran fine, but its not really THAT GPU heavy, so i figured I'd try Crysis 2. It actually ran fine even on Ultra, but with Low FPS. On Extreme it was playable, and no stutter!

I thought this was weird so i tried BF3 again, it did not stutter. And now I know what I was doing wrong. I was testing my overclocking on BF3, so I joined a 1 player start server. I was having stutters all the time, the game would crash. This is why I created this thread. Now I realised I have been testing it on the same map the whole time (Sharqi Peninsula). Just now it was a different map and it ran fine.

So sorry for wasting your time. frown.gif

I do have another question though; Is it better to just let OCCTPT run on Auto or sit in front of the screen for one hour looking for artifacts?

The best way to test for stability for GPU's is to game on it.

Running test that just stress the card to maximum is just not going to prove anything and can hurt your card.

A game will tell you if it's stable or not.

I know you've solded it, but it might be downclocking.. my Palit used to go from 825->405 in Skyrim because it cant do it.
try rolling clocks to 800/770.

Testing my overclock AND having fun at the same time?! Sounds like a good idea. But how do I tell if the overclock is unstable? Will I have artifacts or is it gonna lag?

If you have artifacts or the drivers crash, it's not stable smile.gif
