So what is Skyrim exactly? - Page 2

How long does it take to complete the game? (On a daily basis of maybe 1-2 hours?)
So you can choose to do the quests it offers, or just skip them to do the "main quest?"
What exactly is the main quest? :O

I haven't played Skryim, but I have played Morrowind and Oblivion (it's 2 predecessors)

The point of Skryim isn't to complete the game - it's to explore the world. You can join different factions, complete as many or as few side-quests as you like, and basically submerge yourself into the game. It's like when you're watching a fantasy movie (LotR for lack of a better example) but you can do things instead of just watching how the story unfolds.

If you just want to play through with a more structure/less freedom, I'd recommend the Witcher. It's a narrative driven RPG where Skryim is sandbox (go anywhere, do anything) type of game.

Skyrim is so overrated I beat it in 6 hours and killed final boss with a level 2 hatchet I found on some random mob.
Gameplay is very boring all you do is just run through some forest for like half an hour
Story line is pretty stupid too, OMG some dragon will destroy the world now you must go stop it ZOMG, I mean come on, couldn't they come up with something a little less cliche?

I beat Mass Effect1,2, all DLC's, Oblivion+Shivering Isle+Knights of Nine+FO3+all DLC+ New Vegas+ all dlc+ Witcher1,2, Dragon Age:Origins, Awakening, 2, Deus EX Human Revolution, Missing link, and my opinion of Skyrim is it's a crappy game.

Well i guess this depends on the players taste. Its usually different from others, some wont like a particular part of the game and some wont like another part!!!

The best game ever.

I'd hate Skyrim too if I beat it in 6 hours.

But wait, I've been playing 60 hours and love it!

Skyrim is a pretty terrible linear game if that's what you play it as. It's the side quests and free roaming that make it great.

Skyrim is basically an open-world RPG taking place in what looks like the fictional Medieval Era (correct me if I am wrong).
The game is best known for it's open-world environment and extensive playtime (a few hours hours of story and +100 hours of quests).
Most people probably have enjoyed it, and it can be hard to put down when you start playing.
There is a lot to do and to explore, and mods can give no life to the game.
There can be a few glitches, but nothing game breaking (in my experience).
I have played it, but only for a certain time.
I would definitely recommend the game.

Its pretty much a questing game but its not nearly as tedious as most games like it. I dont usually play RPGs but I really enjoyed skyrim.

If you beat Skyrim or any non-linear game in 6 hours then you obviously don't get the point of RPG's - especially open-world RPG's. There is no way in the world you could have explored all the content and still beat the game in 20 hours - yet along 6. Nothing wrong with being a "speed-run" type of gamer but don't criticize games that aren't intended for that purpose.

Either that, or you're just trolling.

Personally , i just try the game and if i like it i like it .. i dont care for others opinions , the majority of us all think differently .

Skyrim is meh to me , to others its awsome .. The graphics are exceptional , the gameplay is horrible .. not my style , too slow and boring for me and i dont believe in fairytales and wizards and dragons and make believe rubbish never been a fan .

They could of done alot better with the actual way the game plays like the combat , physics etc .. The fighting style feels like nintendo 64 , i wish the character movememnt and combat style were similar to say assasins creed revelations .. Theres just no excitement

Most people are just fascinated over the visuals and mods , you have to be really bored to play this for 200 hours and actually complete the game rolleyes.gif

The game was too boring from the start to even get into it .. too much involved , people wwho love to work their brain will love this game .. i just cbb sometimes biggrin.gif

my friends LOVE the game..however, for me...i can get kinda OCD about finishing every little side quest , talking to every person, and exploring every part of the map...i fear the game is just too big for me (even tho i would probably enjoy it for a while)...so i never played/bought it. I tried Oblivion and Morrowind back in the day...but both were just too big for me also....i played it for like 2 weeks...and i hardly got anywhere with the main story..i spent most of my time trying to steal things from houses/stores without getting caught. After about 2 weeks of this... some other games came out (online multiplayer games)...and i decided to moved on....i need some structure/rules to finish non-online sandbox games....or a WHOLE lot of real world time...which i don't have. Now a days...i find myself needing to play with or against real people...npc are kinda meh...who am i going to show off my armor/weapons to?!?! lol. but seriously, i love rpgs...even single player ones...but if its just too open and free...it will take me forever to finish (resulting in abandonment)...so i avoid them now a days.
