Overclocking Laptop CPU

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I'm trying to overclock my CPU by a small margin. Now and then, the CPU likes to jump to 2.53 GHz just out of random. The overclocking software I tried in the past would let me up the multiplier to 9.5, but it would never "set it in stone". CPU still read it as 2.4 GHz.

I just got a laptop cooling and it has dropped my temps by at least 10 degrees now. So I'm going to try and reach 2.53 GHz out of this puppy. Any tips or tutorials on how to properly use the overclocking software? I have a feeling it isn't setting because of administrative rights or something.

Cheers on help.

PS. Please don't post saying that "I shouldn't OC a laptop". I've been overclocking laptop GPUs and monitoring them properly for a few years now.

If you boot into the BIOS are there options to change the multiplier there? Also I assume this laptop is the rig in your sig?

I'll give it a shot.
