Got my GTX 560 TI 2gB sli going wow

Well got it installed and all I can say is WOW! Bf3 at 1920x1200 everything set to Ultra but no differed AA, but high post AA and HBAO on as well it never dips below 59-60 that is with vysnc on. Absolutely amazing. So smooth. Ok that is the good part. The bad part is, the noise and the heat. I expected that though. The card that in the main slot gets to about 80 degrees. The bottom card gets to only about 60. The main cards fan does get a bit loud where as the bottom card is still pretty quiet. So now I think if I were to get a motherboard with more space between the 2 slots it will solve all of my problems. Very happy...is the z68 ftw a a good board?

Well, good for you because my SLi'd 570's on Ultra with Vsync off w/ 1920x1080 res. gets around 50 fps average; sometimes it drops into the 20's, and that is with the latest 290 beta drivers. However, they are quiet and cool. But I'd gladly trade some coolness/quietness for better performance. I have to drop the game into the "high" settings to get acceptable performance 100% of the time. Applying an overclock on the cards yields NO increase in performance. Some people - i.e., me - just seem to have a little black cloud following them when it comes to tech stuff......

Oh yeah. Yeah that is one thing differed AA kills performance. I tried it and mine went down to about 30. Post AA to me looks just as good...

Congrats on your new SLI setup I'm sure it feels good. smile.gif

As for the heat what you described is normal. Even for 580's the top card about 80C-85C and the bottom card is a bit hotter at 74C. Don't worry as these cards can take the heat. At about 90C I'd start to look into better cooling but at 99C will down clock itself as a precautionary safety feature.

At worst the heat will effect your over clock limits but not by too much. However it's a moot point as two cards are power housing through graphics regardless quite nicely. thumb.gif
