Hello guys I bought this drive from newegg

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289&Tpk=LITE-ON%20DVD%20Burner%20-%20Bulk%20Black%20SATA%20Model%20iHAS124

It opens up but in "My Computer" it shows as 'BD-ROM Drive" and in device manager it shows as "DTSOFT Virtual CdRom Device".

Now here is the problem. It does not read any disks frown.gif((((( Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a similar LiteOn drive but it shows up as "ATAPI iHAS324 A".

Can you post a screenshot of device manager?

do you happen to use Daemon tools for mounting disks? if so the DTSOFT Virtual CdRom Device could be from that.
Make sure to check for new hardware in device manager. I assume the disk drives opens and everything? Double check your sata and power connections too.

Ok I uninstalled Daemon Tools and now I dont see that icon just my hard drives. So I guess its the SATA cable which is connect to my motherboard, which if connected properly should show the CD/DVD right? Or do I need to install a driver software for it.? Thanks.

You don't need a driver for DVD drive. Just in case did you install chipset driver for AMD 890?
