I know they were bought out by Dell.. rolleyes.gif I meant building a pc with that Mobo and CPU.. It just doesn't exist.. Dell never had that model for sale..

So, definitely using a Win 7 Loader for the OS then.

Aera 51 as the model name is fishy as is for an Alienware. And to top it off a llano processor which I've never seen them use in their systems.

I'd like to see the guy post benchmarks and such to back up his cpu-z info. Cause he'd be one lucky guy if it really were at 4.7 on a a4-3400.

edit: i gave him the link that nukem posted and he still doesnt believe. but ah well I am not gonna spend anymore time trying to get thru to the kid. let him have his placebo and be happy with his Llano build smile.gif

and plus if he scored a 5.5 on his cpu that would not be 4.7Ghz. if he was truley doing 4.7ghz then he would at lest get a 7.8

Its a known bug with the Llano. Just have him set it to stock settings and run Super Pi benchmark and then "raise" his multiplier to 47 and do the same. The result should be near identical. That APU is locked at 27 but some boards BIOS allow for the change in multiplier to appear but there is no performance boost.

Don't mean to restart an old thread, but I think my info will be good for other people to reference.

I built a system for a friend today with an a4-3400 and I am able to overclock it and show improved scores in both PCmark 7 and Windows Index. I have until tomorrow night to play around with it. I will upload screenshots here after I finish testing stable OC's.

It's a cheap build for someone, so excuse the specs haha...

AMD a4-3400 w/ stock heatsiink
MSI A55M-P33
DiabloTek PHD350 350w PSU
4GB Kingston HyperX Blu ddr3 1600mhz (default bios setting is 1333MHz)
Caviar Blue 250gb SATA HDD
Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit
Fractal Designs Core 1000

Did some testing. I'm wrong. The increase in scores I was seeing is a result of the RAM. APU was not being overclocked.
