i7 2600k Temps with H100 need help - Page 2

Yeah, my H100 with my i7 970 at 4ghz doesn't get above 70C on PRIME 95...
I have also applied IC Diamond and have two 580's (stock cooling that blow out) with the radiator P/P top mounted to the 200mm fan on my Antec 1200 as an exhaust...

For a 2600k, it does seem a bit higher than average...
Try re-applying TIM with the simply pea sized dot in the middle...

I have heard that the stock TIM on the H100 is actually pretty good... maybe replacing it might have been a bad idea?

If I'm not mistaken the h100 comes with shin-etsu stock so IC diamond's performance should be fine

I would definitely try a re-seat. I have a 2700k running 4.9GHz @ 1.432v with a H100 and only one set of fans. In a 16hr Prime 95 run my max temps were 72-81-80-74.

I have those temps without the push pull config.

@ 4.7GHz 1.40V maximum, my H100 (using 2 supplied fans) was 47.5C over ambient with my 'abnormally' hot 2600K.

Your temps do seem a little hot, but not excessively hot. Have you checked that you have mounted the pump/cold plate unit to the CPU with sufficient mounting pressure?

Just curious, how much air does the stock Corsair fans push?

Reseat the block, you either used too much or too little thermal paste. Just put a blob in the middle of the cpu the size of a pea except a little smaller because the cpu itself is very small.

I suspect you used too much thermal paste, you don't need much. With IC7 also it helps if you put the tube in boiling water before you apply, makes it a little easier to apply. With IC7 I used to set the CPU shutdown threshold to 85c and literally start the rig with no heatsink while the thermal paste was on the cpu, it would shut down after like 7 seconds but it made the paste nice and soft so the heatsink can spread it out a little better. Not mandatory but it helps. If you motherboard doesnt allow you to set a shutdown temperature dont do this tho.
