The glide is way too fast and they wear out much faster than cloth pads. My 4HD only lasted about 6 months.

Medium to fast cloth, the Talent and the Goliathus were perfectly fine for me speed wise. And yeah, that was my reasoning for my last post. I was just hoping that someone knew of an alternative that I over looked.

Experience I-2? Unique glide, doesn't wear, lowers lift off on most problematic sensors.

I have a brand new Goliathus Speed, and compared to the (used for several months) 9HD they're gliding more a less at the same speeds (it's not a huge difference, I find), which surprised me considering I usually hated cloth pads since they're usually stickier/have more friction.

Completely plastic mousemats like the Zowie Swift glide slightly faster than the 4HD/9HD, and it should be more durable. I think the last 100% plastic mousepad I had was the eXactMat and it lasted almost one year on one of the sides before being inconsistent. But I wasn't playing 24/7 either tongue.gif

Have you ever checked the SS 5L? Some mates of mine were always pushing me to get one, they were saying it was amazing for them.

Sorry to not to be of further help, I'm not exactly a cloth pad user/lover smile.gif

Why not just go with another Talent?

I want to avoid hard pads entirely. The Icemat is rumored to chew through teflon feet faster than any other pad. Plus the small size and high price doesn't exactly lure me in.

My 4HD was fast when it was new, much faster than my new cloth pads. After 5-6 months my 4HD got extremely slow because it wore out so maybe that's what you're feeling. I have also used and wore out an Exactmat which is aluminum, not plastic tongue.gif. I appreciate your suggestions but I'm not interested in hard pads.

Because as I stated in the OP, a picky sensor always tracked better on the Goliathus compared to the Talent (Xai/DA/Abyssus). If the AM starts to jitter on an unused portion of my current Talent then ill just be forced to buy a Goliathus and replace it more often. If all is well then another Talent is the obvious choice.
