MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk Temperatures

Thread Starter
Good day all ...

I was just checking out all my temperatures when I noticed that my GTX 560 Ti Hawk was hitting 78° C while folding ... My current ambient is 29° C ...

The fan speed is set to auto and it at 60% currently ...

Are these temps 2 high ?? ... what is a safe range and max range ...

All info would be greatly appreciated ...

Kind Regards.

I get that while gaming and folding is usually more intensive so I'd say your good.

As long as it is acceptable ... I would hate to start having heat issues ...

Wish the AP's in my chassis pushed more CFM though ... but they ok I guess ... haha

To lower your temps you can undervolt your card, mine is totally stable with 0.987V , versus the 1.050V that came as stock. This will lower your temps about 4 or 5 ºC.
Also you can increase your fan speed, or better, make a fan curve in MSI afterburner, the auto profile is too weak.
You can see the my worklog with the Hawk here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1186989/another-antec-h2o-mod-with-gtx-560-ti-hawk
I was hitting temperatures like yours, but no more...

Very nice mod ... but it kills the look of the PC ... I am annoyed with my cable management in my pc let alone a hanging fan ... lol ... which I can't do cause of the Raven 02-E being a vertical case and not a horizontal case ...

If I do go that route ... I would just use a Custom WCL ... but that would be a waste cause of how much I spent for my Silver Arrow ... lol

Oh I forgot to ask you before that have you made a custom fanprofile yet? As Angel said, the standard profile kinda sucks. Play for a while with Afterburner and see if you can make a profile that has better temps/noise for your liking.
I remember my CF 6950 TF3's never went over 65c in my FT02 after I made a custom fan profile. But my ambient is like 20 on winter and 25 on summer, so it's lower than yours biggrin.gif

Yeah the ambient is what gets me most days ... I mean ... Last week the ambient was 35 ... it was a scorcher !! ... sometimes I wish I could afford 2 just build a tiny room with all my pcs and a mega aircon ... hahaha ...

No I have not made a fan profile ... was hesitant in case I mess up the higher temperature part ... ... I am happy with the sound at 60% ... even 70 doesn't bug me overly much ... with speakers on during gaming I don't hear 75% at all if any ... it's only 80% and above that starts 2 annoy me as my chassis is 30cm from me ... lol

A little late to this party...but there is no problem with running at 78c; it is well within the operating tolerance for the 560 ti (nvidia spec max is 99c). BTW I don't think I'd even turn my computer on if the ambient was 35c.
