Help me choose a monitor

I'm looking for a 23"-24" monitor for gaming and the likes and I'm currently looking at the following:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-S23A550H-inch-Widescreen-monitor/dp/B004O6ADDK/ref=sr_1_9?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1325719468&sr=1-9

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004R9JEV6/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_g147_i2?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=02RSF6NCDF9HA19H7TPR&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294

http://www.amazon.co.uk/ViewSonic-VX2453MH-LED-inch-Screen-Monitor/dp/B004LXK8LI/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_0_0

Not too sure what's good or bad but the Samsung looks best currently because I know the brand better.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, £160 is the pref budget. But I can go an extra £10 if it's worth it.

I bought this when I built my rig a few weeks ago;

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Monitors/24%26quot%3B+Monitors/24%22+ASUS+VS247H+Widescreen+LED+Monitor+?productId=46308
And it was £160 when I bought it frown.gif lol

I can post some pix tonight of my setup if it would help you?

EDIT:
Out of the three you linked I would go with the second one;
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004R9JEV6/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_g147_i2?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=02RSF6NCDF9HA19H7TPR&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294

Thanks buddy. I did have a look at that Asus one but forgot to link it in my first post. Just a toss-up now between your monitor and that Samsung.

Also, feel free to post your setup. smile.gif

How it looks at eyelevel

450
The cables plug in on the Horizontal plane (i.e the connectors are horizontal and parallel to the floor as opposed to being vertical and parallel to the face of the monitor)
I'm using DVI

450
Showing the width comparison to a bog-standard pen. Should give you a better idea on the width.

450
Same as above but for the height of the monitor thumb.gif

All in all this is a bloody good monitor and I'll certainly be picking up another 2 for Eyefinity with the 7970's thumb.gif

If you need to know anything else just drop me a PM or post here in your thread and I'll be happy to help smile.gif

Both monitors are excellent, I would go with the ASUS model though. I have used asus monitors in the past (VE248H) great but had to sell it due to money.

Thanks for the pics. I'm still waiting to find out when the GTX680s are released and I may put it off until then. But god knows I'll end up getting a new monitor before it any way. tongue.gif

Well I'm waiting on the 7970s so I bought a cheap 6850 for now and got this monitor. Once I go get my first (of 3) 7970 next month I'll drop my 6850 into my other rig and have a 6850 crossfire setup rocking out in that rig smile.gif

Your GTS 250 should be OK with this monitor I think.

First of all, NEVER get a Samsung - they have decent products, but they are extremely overpriced and they're customer service is terrible....

I wouldn't recommend a ViewSonic either because they aren't well known.

The the best brand of monitors is BenQ - that is not my opinion, that is the truth.

For £136.49 there is the BenQ G2420HDBL

This is 24 inch, LED (that means an LCD screen with an LED backlight), Widescreen 16:9 (the best Aspect Ratio for Gaming), 5,000,000:1 contrast (that means very bright, amazing colours and insanely good picture), it is Full HD (1920 x 1080) And the Response Time is 5ms!!

I would recommend this as it is Perfect Spec (better than the ViewSonic AND the two Samsungs) and £50 cheaper!!!!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-G2420HDBL-Widescreen-Back-Light-5million/dp/B002XNOJMC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325853617&sr=8-2

For £145.67 (Just £9 more) there is the BenQ G2420HD

This is EXACTLY the same as the model above but instead of 5ms Response Time - you get 2ms!!!!!!!!!! (Which is PERFECT for Gamers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I have this Monitor because of the AMAZING response time and very cheap price, and all I can say is that I couldn't have chose any better!!! It is a pleasure to turn on my computer every day - just to see this fantastic monitor!!

I hope you now realise that there are much better monitors than ****ty Samsung's that cost £180

You wanted a quality monitor under £160.... Choose the second monitor as it is only £9 more but WELL worth it, Honestly!!
