Headphones: Razer Chimaera 5.1
Pricetag: $180

The Story:
So the story goes, I was playing MW3 on the xbox back in November I got annoyed so I turned off my xbox and I "set" them down with a little more force than usual but not so much that it would break or scratch even and they slipped off the desk and fell onto the floor and I checked an hour later to see if they were working and the left headphone wasn't working. mad.gif

Phase 2:
I slapped the left headphone and it started working again but ever since then the audio is dull and kind of has an echoing effect to the headphones. All the Bass has left these headphones and Razer refused my warranty even with proof of purchase so I'm stuck with a broken pair of $180 Razer Chimaeras that sound horrible. (I could pick up a $2 headset from walmart that sounded better.)

Phase 3:
Since I couldn't RMA I decided to open them up and to my knowledge everything is connected properly but to my dismay I found that the speaker chamber is sealed tight and appears to have been melted closed so no amount of prying will get the chamber open.

Additional Information:
Upon receiving my headphones both the 3.5mm jacks were screwed up and wouldn't work so that left me with either the Toslink or Analog red/white inputs to use which sounded great until I dropped the headphones. Razer Tech told me upon calling them up that I must have done something to the charge base because they didn't have that issue and that really made me hot under the collar so no RMA originally either.

I really don't want to toss these headphones in the garbage but I don't want to keep a useless pile of slag either, so here I am requesting any help and/or ideas with this matter.

The plus side, when I'm using my $100 Stereo Chimaeras these make a good battery charger. redface.gif

razer is seemingly kind of blunt and useless with RMAs lately.

plug them into something that will direct sound to them only (preferably a reciever/amp) put them on and turn the bass knob a bit to the + side say +2 or 3, and see if sound comes back pair of my headphones did the same thing a while ago, i did that and left them for a half hour or so and all was normal again.

I will try that, however I don't have an AMP and was wondering if my brothers SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series would work?
