You may not have seen the post, but the firmware update to fix the problem will be out the week of January 16th, and why would you change your mind about buying an M4 SSD? When a company can get a fix out in a month to address a firmware issue, that seems like a good reason to buy the product! Product support looks pretty good from here!thumb.gif

Yeah, reconsidering. Although due to some good luck I may be able to afford an Intel drive instead which I'd get over it simply because Intel > Crucial > * >>>>>> OCZ for warranties, etc with SSDs from what I've seen. tongue.gif

Great, just great. Just bought one of these finally got everything finished and followed Shaun's SSD optimization guide. Now what, this freaking sucks.

I gave up on SSDs. Too many problems. I'm back on an old hard drive. Working flawless.

Intel fixed the bug promptly with firmware. Crucial is doing the exact same thing.

Did you check how durable this little drive is? I had a pleasure of rmaing my Intel i5-760 last January that i bought off ebay.... Long story short, it was an absolutely delightful experience. biggrin.gif I do not really care for Crucial and wish them all the best but I did learn my lesson by buying G.Skill Phoenix 120GB last year. It still runs fine but I expect it to die sooner rather than later.

Hopefully the fix will be out soon. Been wanting a m4 for my laptop!

I kept my original install of Windows on my 1Tb drive when i upgraded to a 128 Gb M4. I'm glad i did now. There's always the risk of something like this happening with new tech but It doesn't look like it will affect me (1152 hrs use)

Indeed. This is why Chunky changed the title of the thread so people would stop jumping to ridiculous conclusions just by reading the title.

What's worse is we have even way less knowledgable people equating this to the Sandforce 2281 bsod bug fiasco. About the same as apples and oranges really.
