I never regretted I bought a Crucial M4. At first I got a hit from the news but reading the official Crucial announcement I felt relieved. The act fast and the fix is coming pretty soon. And our data are safe and no need for RMA or wipe. One of the best SSDs out there if not the best.

I updated to 0009 without a hitch. I did image the entire drive right before just in case though. Better safe than sorry!

And I'm not worried one bit about my drive. With new tech like SSDs we're likely to see issues pop up on occasion, no matter who the manufacturer is. The thing I really care about is how it's handled once there does seem to be a problem, and right now it looks like Crucial is handling it like a champ! thumb.gif

Sorry for the spat. Just got the money and bought it and a problem arises. Nobody likes it to happen, but it does. Glad crucial is fixing it.

apparently it's a bug in the controller of the ssd made by Marvell. But Crucial can fix it via firmware.

I expect due to the nature of the bug, all drives will be effected.

Keep us updated on whether it occurs to you or not.

Will the bug auto-reboot my computer or will it just stay on Blue screen until I press reboot?

If it just stays on blue screen, is there an option in BIOS or something where I can set it to auto-boot? My computer is a server too and I need it up when I'm not home, even if it goes down for 1 minute every hour thats better than being down all day while at work.

So Intel 510s could also be affected?

I have the vertex 3 and i haven't had a problem with it, lots of my friends have M4's and never had this problem but i also don't think any of them have reached that limit yet, hope they fix it!
