Beginner Looking For CPU Water Loop

Thread Starter
Hey Guys,

Ive been hanging out in the air cooling section for awhile now. Ive tried a H-60 and D-14 air cooling as well as general air flow and I am still experiencing high temps with my 2600k.

Ambient temps are high 20C (75-85F)

Basically Ive given up and want to invest in a water loop for my cpu (does anything really need a loop? gpu or mobo?

If someone could link me to beginner guides and help guide me towards a selections I would greatly appreciate it.

My case specs and everything are in my signiture except for my 2600k and ASUS Pro V Gen 3 mobo..

What the different between a kit and custom loop? Looking to keep cost low since I am coming from a $80 air cooler..

Pros and Cons between kits and costom loops.. Any info appreciated!

Price range.. $300 tops?? What resonable?

Thanks!!

If you'd looked at the top of the forum, there is a sticky there all about "Water Cooling Essentials" that covers pretty much everything you've ever wanted to know.

CPU and GPU are the most commonly cooled. WCing RAM is mostly for the e-peen or appearances but is rarely needed. Watercooled motherboards are useful for heavily overclocked CPU and GPU as the motherboard's VREG (normally to the left of the socket) and the southbridge (between the socket and the PCI lanes) can get very hot with a lot of over-voltaging and can fry your motherboard if they run too hot for too long.

As far as cooling in your exact case I won't be much help though and will leave that to somebody with more experience in a Phantom.
