PSU Question before system sale.

Hi there smile.gif

I'm thinking of selling my second desktop system, which is effectively a Packard Bell imedia, which I upgraded until it became my sig rig smile.gif
Getting an SSD a few weeks ago was the last part I needed, so I now have all the parts needed to re build the PB.

Originally bought around Christmas 2009
Specs:

AMD Athlon II x3 425 @2.7GHz
Packard Bell DTX Motherboard (Phoenix)
750GB Seagate Barracuda HDD
2 x 2GB Samsung DDR2
Sapphire HD 4350 512MB
Cit 500W PSU
Some DVD Drive
It also has a front panel card reader

I have no use for it, so I figured I'd sell it, but first I have a question.

I changed the PSU from the stock OEM 250W to a Cit 500W in March last year, when I knew nothing about PC Hardware. - I've learnt a lot since then tongue.gif

Here is a link to the PSU:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002Q8HFB6

Let's be honest, it's clearly pretty bad.
Would it be safer to change the PSU before selling the system?

If so, what to?
It needs to be an matx PSU, I believe the size is called SFX.

I was thinking of this one:

Thoughts?
Also, any ideas on how much the system is worth?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

if it runs fine, just keep the psu and sell it.
if you do replace the psu, it's going to cost you money, and I think you are going to pass the cost onto the buyer.
lower price point will help with the sale.

mention the power supply concerns you have to the buyer if you'd like
just be honest, and you wouldn't have anything to worry about.

Thanks for the reply. biggrin.gif

That's a good point.

It's run the rig just fine since it's been purchased, I'll say that if they ever want to change the graphics card, get another PSU at the same time. thumb.gif

Anyone have any ideas on price?
It also has a TP-Link wireless N card too, costs about £10.

Cheers.
