Picture and tracking thread here.
Inspired by the original Where's Nifty, we are going to be doing a similar project. To make it more accessible, a M42 lens will be used, with supplied adapters to various mounts. The lens is a Chinon 55mm f/1.7. The rules are fairly simple, you get the lens in the mail, shoot with it for a few days (let's say 1 week max), post your pictures in the thread, then mail it off to the next person and post the tracking number so we can keep track of where it is.
New rule: Everyone participating should take a photo of Nifty to replace the one at the top of this thread and in the picture/tracking thread.
To sign up, just post here along with the camera mount you will be using. I'll use that to decide which adapters to order.Update: The included lens mounts will be: Canon, Nikon, Olympus/Four thirds, Sony/Minolta, and of course, M42. If you want to use anything else, you will need to provide your own adapter. Remember that you will have to mail the lens to the next person on the list, so don't sign up unless you're willing to do that. USPS should ship it anywhere in the country for about $8-10, so expect to pay about that much. Don't post your address, the person before you will PM you for it when the time comes.
Update: The optical adapter required to focus to infinity on Nikon affects image quality. You can judge the results for yourself here. Because of this, I will be including a Vivitar XC-3 and a few rolls of film. Feel free to use it if you like, but the film may be used up by the time it gets to you, so plan on buying your own.
