EDIT: I thought you had the single fan version, how's the dual fan model getting that hot!? That's a decent cooler. You should check what the temps of other cards like that are like.
Also, just make sure you stay below 85C or 90C. GTX 480s ran that hot even before you even OC'd em.

I just set the card at these settings: 1000core 1200mem and fan @ 60% the temp maxed out at 63C! this sounds quite safe. what do you think?

Try to keep it well below that. Every performance part degrades over time, just know that going in. If you want to the card to run for a long time you shouldn't overclock it at all. If you are probably going to replace it in a couple of years then let her burn.

I will probably replace this card in 2 years time or earlier if the 7000 series is much higher performance for the same price. I just wanted to check it wont die on me in 6 months time so I will be stuck with the onboard gpu thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Aside from the card probably sounding like a hairdryer, then yes, 63C does sound safe for those clocks. biggrin.gif

It should come with a lifetime warranty if you bought it new. Did you buy this card new and register it within 30 days?

Its not actually too loud at 60%. I did register the card within 30 days of getting it. I heard you can overclock XFX cards without loosing your warranty, is that true?
