x850XT vs. 7600GT

Thread Starter
I've been seeing a lot of arguements lately about which one of these is better, and I can't seem to find any comparisons on the net, so I'm posting here. Which one? (this is also for a legit reason since my bro wants a not-so-expensive card for his new comp). Thanks.

7600GT. X850 is old tech. Unless you want to play old games then get the 7600GT.

7600gt with no comparison, spec and tech wise, 7600gt = sm3 ATi card doesn't, 7600gt is better then the 6800ultra, the ati was side by side with the ultra, it wins there, plus you can sli them latter for video rendering beast

It basically comes down to HDR. If you want HDR, get the 7600GT. If that doesn't matter to you, then the x850 has much more raw power than the 7600GT. I will attach the article when I find it.

Here's the article:

You Nvidia fanboys should read it too.

yea, either or would do just fine if you ask me. personally i'd get whatever's cheaper.
i upgraded to a core 2 duo (shipping as we speak) from my X2 3800+ and downgraded to the 7800gt from my 7900gtx. i mean the 7800gt runs all the games i want to on high without much lag at all.. only thing it really runs into trouble with is AA.
HDR is a nice thing to have though.
