Lacks NFC/LTE though. ICS is coming to the ET4G, and will be here before the Nexus is out mid-year 2012.

That and it is 1.5Ghz stock, has the contoured display, higher resolution, larger capacity battery....

E4GT is only meh? That's one of the best phones on the market. I switched from that phone from Sprint to ATT and got a Skyrocket and this thing is a POS compared to the Epic 4g. I was getting 30+ hours of batter life out of that bad boy, you're trippin'

sigh... no. wimax technology is not wasted. 4g is a very small part of what wimax does. It was never intended to take LTE's place. In fact, they are intended to work together. wimax is the backhaul for all cellular networks because it carrys all the bandwidth.

And I don't know why Sprint would offer an Galaxy Nexus LTE phone as their LTE isn't scheduled to go live for another year.

I'm sure the Skyrocket is a POS, it's just that I've had much better phones as far as the quality and support which are pretty important imo. So the E4GT just seems meh. Nothin too special. But you're right, it does top a lot of other phones out there.

Actually they are releasing Wimax 2.0 before LTE. You have atleast 5 years before they go public with LTE.

Seriously not trolling. I got this info both from the regional manager of "Clear" and our district Sprint rep when I worked at best buy still a few months ago.

They will of course keep upgrading wimax, it's still vital. But as for LTE 5 years out? That doesn't even make comprehensible sense. Releasing a 5 year old technology when the next standard is about to be implemented? I'm sure your regional Clearwire manager doesn't have jack on Dan Hesse who already publicly announced LTE to roll out first half of 2012 in it's first market. Won't be til a year later probably I'd guess til we see it more standardized.

Head over to XDA, root your phone and get Calkulin's rom, you will like your phone 100x more.

I am glad to hear the news, it's good to see that Sprint may get the GNexus. That said, I chose the E4GT over the GNexus based on many factors... (Despite the resolution and PPI disadvantage compared to a few phones, it's stronger than most anything else out there hardware-wise.) Also, I'm more interested in Sprint rolling out the LTE network tongue.gif

I've had calkulins, I'm on blazer now. I can't remember what it was but there was something that I didn't like about calkulins.
