Thread Starter
Alright I'm finally buying a core2 and I've been reading review after review about Asus boards that support is and I want to ask which would be the best for it

-P5W Deluxe Wifi
-P5B Deluxe Wifi
-or something else

the Core2 im using in it is just a e6300 that I plan to overclock so..overclocking options I really need

I would look at the Gigabyte DS3 and S3 models, depending on if you want SLI or Crossfire (hacked drivers), the Gigabyte models would be better price wise since they only have 1 PCIe slot. The DS3 has solid state capacitors, which are better for long term stability but if you are in a pinch, the S3 will perform on par. These have been proven to compete with the ASUS boards you are already considering, but at a fraction of the cost! The 2 ASUS boards are about equal when it comes to overclocking, but I would give the edge to the P5W DH in this case.

Crossfire would work the best with the P5W DH since it has Crossfire support built in. The P5B Deluxe would limit the bandwidth on the 2nd slot since it can only operate at 4x and not 16x or 8x.

Ok I'm Probably going to get the P5W so maybe the price on newegg will go down in the next week so I have enough extra money for the x1900 or x1950

I would go with the P5W-DH if you plan on crossfire...

All 965 chipset can now do CrossFire with ATI Catalyst 6.9

Best board for E6300 and E6400 is the P5B Deluxe or Gigabyte DS3

I agree, but the second lane will be limited to X4....Better off with a 7950GX2 in the first slot and nothing in the second....Quad SLI...Quad What?.....LOL
