How long for OCCT and HD6950 Unlock/OC to be considered "stable"?

I have my Club3D CoolStream HD6950 2GB GDDR5 overclocked to 880mhz/1375mhz without bumping up the voltage. The voltage is 1.1. I've currently ran OCCT for 20 minutes and it didn't give me a error and the DispIO temperature didn't went higher than 60c on automatic fan mode.

These were my OCCT settings before running the test:

337

My question is: How long do I need to run OCCT before the video card is considered "stable"?

I'll rep anyone who is able to help me! biggrin.gif

I would personally stop using OCCT, if it's anything like furmark then scrap it. Furmark produces unrealistic load and temps and can be harmful to the GPU if used for a prolonged period of time.

I would recommend using gaming as a stability tester, alternatively you can try something that many user's including myself do, load up Unique Heaven benchmark and run that for half an hour or so, a few runs of 3dmark11 and the same with Crysis / Metro benchmark tool, if it can withstand all of that, then I would you're good to go.

Hope that helps.

Guess the texture glitches are just "pseudo" eh upsidedwnsmiley.gif

It's really not needed to use OCCT to check for error. If it passed, it only means OCCT error free for a certain period of testing. That is not a guarantee the oc will not crash in games or other applications.

For general oc testings, have a look here (lazy to type) sleepysmileyanim.gif

:thumb:Lol stable? Just run some Bench mark, if you don’t see any artifacts up your core and memory by ten. If you computer screen freeze itself or crashes, rest and lower your core of memory by five or ten until you find the sweet spot.... Keep an eye on your temperature and if need set your fan on manual and put your desirer fan speed.

Run 3DMark 11. Watch closely for artifacts.

3d mark 11 or looping heaven 2.5 for a few hours will do the job.
