For what I need, even 2.6Ghz is enough for me, all I do is Internet browsing, watching YouTube videos, playing flash games and creating Word Documents....

After all, I'm only 13 years old.....

And thats fine, if 2.6 is enough for you then go for it. Just didnt want you to expect it to really overclock because you would be quite dissapointed with it if you were expecting that

edit: although abs.exe is right the G530 is 2.4

I don't see the point to change your CPU at all.

You celeron e3400 @ 3.9Ghz is the same force as what you want to purchase.

Umm..... The reason being:

I have a Socket 775 system now, it uses a ICH7 controller and doesn't support AHCI, yet I have already bought an SSD.

I might as well upgrade to a P67 Socket 1155 Board so I can take advantage of making my SSD even faster!!!

When I get my Gigabyte P67-DS3-B3, I'll need a new processor - that's why I started this thread!!!

EDIT: I've chosen to get the Celeron G530 for its great value - £39!!!

You don't want to overclock the bus on a Sandy Bridge chip anyway. It's not worth it. The SB BCLK is linked to everything else such as RAM, PCI-E, SATA, etc and increasing that value will also increase those. More bad then good will come with that and if you buy a non-unlocked CPU don't plan on OC'ing at all.

So are you saying that, if I was to overclock my CPU - everything else would increase with it??

Isn't that a good thing - because I'll get improved performance all round!!

No, thats exactly what makes overclocking that way so limited. Since its tied to all those things, you'll be lucky if you get to 110, realistically lower. They don't like running faster and it won't be stable.
