Monitor and TV combo? Help me work out the details

Thread Starter
I am about to pick up a 120Hz monitor to use for gaming and I plan on putting in the middle of my two Dell 2209WA E-IPS panels (22” 16x10 1680x1050 with DVI and VGA inputs) and I would like to hook one of them up that could be used as both a monitor and a TV is this possible? I am trying to find the best way to integrate everything; I really don’t have any PCI/PCI-E slots open in my computer so I would like to have some sort of external solution. I can come straight out of a cable box with HDMI but how will I switch between monitor function and TV? What about sound? Will I need to add a separate set of speakers?

Thanks!

If your TV has HDMI just plug it in the second card HDMI port.

To select between TV and HDMI from PC, from the TV menu select input source, TV, HDMI, etc.

To have sound to the TV, go to sound settings and select the HDMI as default playback device.
