i use this firmware to flash it:

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1532772

fixed the directory structure so that it will work in DOS. Directories on CD:
-12802 = LSI flasher, LSI 1.28.02 firmware
-12900 = LSI flasher, LSI 1.29.00 firmware
-129oldfl = LSI flasher from 1.28.02 package, LSI 1.29.00 firmware
-DellA05 = Dell flasher, Dell A05 firmware (untested by me but this is unmodified from Dell)
-D12802 = Dell flasher, LSI 1.28.02 firmware (untested)
-D12900 = Dell flasher, LSI 1.29.00 firmware (untested)

i got a external dvdrom drive for it.

i need step by step instruction to flash IT mode.

also i need to know how to monitoring the drive when i flash.

I also have one of these cards, and have been using it as a "plain Jane" HBA for a while now under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. What's the advantage of flashing it with LSI firmware?

I can't speak for Windows, but Linux uses the mptsas driver, and this allows SMART to work with the card and see each of the drives.
