STH10 Now Shipping - Page 14

Don't tell me you didn't read the very first post where every conceivable configuration option is laid out for you and how many and size radiators can fit into this case.

I got that info, just looking for option number and cost info for adding a pedestal, casters, radiator mount s, additional flex bays, front panel options..etc.... Which options from the on-line store apply to this case.... That kind of info. I did read through the thread and saw bits and pieces of some of this info but not familiar with Case Labs products.

The STH10 has only just been released - the first units haven't even shipped yet so not all accessories are complete or priced yet. For example the pedestal. There will be one, but not sure how much it is yet.

What specifically are you thinking about, maybe we can help more if you tell us more I'll try and address what you mentioned.

Radiator mounts -
- side mounts for heat chambers - 140.4/120.4/180.3
- top/bottom mounts for heat chambers - probably the same options as the side mounts
- front mounts - 120.4 is available, 140.4 may follow later

Casers-
- yes probably the same as other cases - i.e. http://www.caselabs-store.com/caster-kit/
- probably an optional upgrade to the beefcake 200lbs per wheel casters that were optional on the TX10. More $$, not sure how much.

Front panel options
- well you have 17 bays, each set of 3 bays is considered a flex bay in which you can fit an optional hard drive mount or a front mount radiatora 3rd party IO port bay etc

Okay so let me identify exactly what I plan to put into this right now and you guys can help me make sure I have the right option parts added. I will post back with that info. Thanks.

I believe there is even plenty enough room for phase change cooling in bottom section!

Okay so here is what I plan to fit into this now, I also added some questions concerning plans for an upgrade in case it makes sense to get the option now.

Motherboard - Extended ATX , but may go to an SR2 HPTX - Is the HTPX Tray backwards compatible or are they two different trays ?

5.25 External Access Bay Devices - Qty-6
3.5 - Hard Disks - Qty-2 (May add 2 more)
2.5 - SSD's - Qty-4

Front Fan - Probably want a mount for adding fan or two in the front of the case into the motherboard compartment . Can you add a fan in the front of the top or bottom chamber ?

Rads- 120.3 Qty-2 - I am thinking best mount id to have it pulling air from side of so need Side Rad Mount ? What would you guys suggest ?
Rad- 120.4 Qty-1 (would like to add) - Need Side Rad Mount ?

PSU - Qty-2

Window - Yes
Casters - Yes
Reverse Layout - Motherboard to be on the opposite side (ala TJ11) Works perfectly in my space. If not or too costly I would rearrange office layout but limited due to the size of this beast..

With regard to the radiator mounting, I prefer to keep the rads in the bottom or top chambers. Is it best to mount on their sides ? or laying down pulling air from in case up and out ?
What about the I/O switch panel on the front under the power switch ? I prefer to have 4 USB 3.0 ports and head phone jacks, possibly a 1394 Port as well. I saw that part as an option on the first page, what options do I have ?

So that is all I can think of that would affect my case configuration options, I am sure I forgot something. So what would my configuration sheet look like with part numbers and pricing for the above ?

Just a heads up -- reverse ATX is not the same as the rotated ATX configuration that Silverstone often uses. This is an example of a reverse ATX case:



The motherboard will be accessed from the opposite side panel (you would put the computer on your left side in order to see into the window) and the motherboard is mounted upside down (the PCI-e slots are above the I/O panel). This allows you to more easily see your coolant flowing through your graphics cards and in many cases makes for shorter tubing runs.

- Yes HPTX motherboard is compatible with smaller boards
- The bottom bays should have access to the the heat chamber - whether you can still isolate the heat chamber properly when using the bottom 3 bays for a fan I don't know. To be honest though I wouldn't bother, if you're running 7 fans in exhaust out of the bottom heat chamber, one intake fan isn't going to do much.
- I would run side mounts for the radiators in the base exhausting out the side and leave the base open for air intake because then you can have two rads in each chamber getting fresh air, if you have a 480 and 2 360's, I'd run the 480 and 360 in the bottom and the 2 psu's and a 360 up top, the 360 up top may have to be top mount as you have 2 psu's in there. This however means no dust filtration. If you want dust filtration you may want to run the radiators intaking air from the sides of the pedestal
- Yes reverse layout will be available - on the M8 it costs $20, I suspect it's the same cost for this case
- I don't believe the standard CaseLabs IO panel will be available for the STH10 as the cables aren't long enough (it's not available for the TX10 because of this reason) so you'll to look for an aftermarket one

Side mount of the rads in the base exhausting out the side sounds like what I would do.

Are aftermarket IO Panels for that spot a standard size ? I will have to search on those. I just assumed they would have to be made for that case mounting and opening.

Yes, when I said reverse I did mean the motherboard compartment on the right side (if looking at the front of the unit) just as you show that pic of the Phantom. That is how TJ11 are made. The rotated motherboard layout is actually one of the main features that led me to the TJ11 case. The cooling ion that case is phenomenal. Though I plan to have all water cooled parts in this build so I don't plan on needing the big air except for the rads in the base.

Nice Phantom mod by the way did to make it a reverse setup in that case ?
