Number of 3.5'' bays 1 - Isnt 3.5" normally used for HDD's?! How come there is only one?!
Native HDD Capacity 2 (22 Using Optional MAC-102 HDD Cages) - I guess this means that the case can take two 3.5" drives?! What does native mean?!
Sorry, but I believe this whole thing is confusing! At least to the "regular" guy that know little about PC's. It would really help if anyone can explain this a little bit better to me. Also, I would like to install at least eight 3.5" HDD's. Can those be Hot-Swappable?!
Hi you are getting worked up and reading too much into what is being said. Native means it comes with it.
It comes with internal mounting cage in the space behind the motherboard tray for 2ea 3.5" drives and a mounting cage for 4 ea SSD's the 1 Standard 3.5 is for you to put USB ports, Card reader or something like this below the switches. Like this..https://store-df4bb.mybigcommerce.com/usb-3-0-i-o-3-5-bay-silverstone-black/
It has space for 17 ea 5.25 bays. you can combine them how ever you want to. if you buy these MAC-102's
then for every 3 flex bays or 5.25 bays you can put 4 3.5 HDD's or 8 SSD'S.
if you want you can install a hot swappable drive cage in some of the 5.25 bays.. I have a couple that hold 4 ea 2.5 HDD's or SSD's. I also have one that uses 3ea of the 5.25 drive bays to hold 4 each 3.5" HDD's.
Flex bays are really the 5.25 drive bays. but they are called that because they are completely flexible and you can put anything there you want just about, with the right accessories that is.. Radiators, internal hard drives, optical drives, drive cages, fan controllers, led controllers, additional switch panels...
also look at some of the STH10 Build logs. that are listed on the first page of this Thread..
I hope I was able to help you!!!
