But only if your cooler can handle it as with the high vid I think you have to dump more vcore in it to get up there. Oh and is it a B0 or G0 stepping as that will definitely make a big difference too.
Yh I dropped the CPU termination voltage back to normal 1.2V and it ran 10 instances of IBT so thats a good sign, I am currently running another 10 instances just to be sure.
I guess the VTT voltage didn't have big effect maybe if I increase it to 1.5V I can reduce Vcore down from 1.4V but why bother. I read VTT can do some real damage if set high, so better safe than sorry.
Still I think 1.4V just for a 3GHZ overclock is insanely high luckily my temperatures are not too bad, I get max 60'C. Just played Crysis 2 for a good hour or two with no issues so hopefully the overclock will be stable even with 1.2V VTT.
I think maybe I can squeeze 3.2GHz out of it.
second run of IBT just passed, seems like the drop in VTT had no effect on the overclock and the 1.4V vcore was the main contributor.
BTW Why is my idle voltage lower than load, that does not make any sense
