fold on GPU`s cpu or both ?

Thread Starter
ok im folding on a I3 2100 & 2 GTX 260`s (1-192SP & 1-216SP)

my cpu PPD fluctuates between 1000-4000PPD depending on project
my GPU`s PPD is average 8000-10000PPD

my cpu takes quite a long time to complete WU`s TPF of between 5.46-10.36
and my GPU`s drop WU like no tomorrow TPF of between 28-36

so would i be better off with the 16000-20000PPD from my gpu`s
or the 1000-4000PPD from my cpu excluding bonuses ( including bonuses its slightly higher)

The GPUs will draw more power but give more points and probably more consistent, the CPU will draw less power and give less PPD. I'd run the two GPUs and maybe try if the CPU can get any work done at the same time, if you're comfortable with the power draw of the GPUs.

Ya with only 1-4k ppd the power draw of the CPU may not be worth it for you. You will probably benefit from a higher GPU PPD if you only fold on those. Especially with several GPUs on a board I see a slowdown because of CPU bottleneck. So personally I would ditch the CPU and keep the GPU.

The cpu completes WU`s with the GPU`s folding every 12-24 hours depending on project and is probably longer due to this
rig not being a 24/7 folder

I dont mind the power draw of all 3 folding ( warms up my room )

also temps are not a issue any more my CPU at 100% load is 32-35c
and GPU`s between 60-75c across both
