i went through these reviews but they are too spread out. I mean the majority of the reviews on both links were back in 2008...? While yes it seems like they have crappy customer service, the qaulity of the product can be just as bad with something bought on newegg. While i do thank you for posting these as i have gone through them just to see what people are saying, Im still gonna give them a shot. Cant really complain buying a raptor for 70-90 dollars...lol

lets hope they arent as bad as they were in the 08 area....

So these ARE NOT WD Raptors? After reading into thats the conclusion I came up with. Was kinda mislead. Some brand named White Label? Well, if they work they work I guess.

They are, just rebranded for use by companies like Dell, least that's how I took it.

To my knowledge "white label" means refurbished/restored which means a very short warranty. Dell does not use rebranded drives, they just put a regular drive from WD with OEM warranty. The best example is WD Velociraptor 80GB.

Doesn't matter.... HDDs won't need SATA 6Gb/s for at least another decade.

Why? SATA IV won't come anytime soon?

SATA 3 GBPS isn't even achieved yet. SSD maxed just under 800 MBPS doesn't it?
