Hey guys,

just wanna know if anyone could possibly help me with this problem~
i would like to upgrade to total of 8GB Ram but have been looking at different sites showing the GA-H55M-S2H Mobo (rev.1.0) << that i have no idea what it mean some as (Rev.10) some has (Rev.1.1) so no idea what that is...but each show different information.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3310#sp
on gigabyte website it shows it can hold up to 16GB of Max Memory meaning each slot can hold up to 8gb ram max rite?

but other site that show the Mobo only can hold total of MAX Ram of 8gb...? so im really confuse..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhH8Q5G9voo

Current Mobo & Intel:
Intel Core i7 860 Processor LGA1156 2.8GHz 8MB Cache CPU
Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H Intel LGA1156 HDMI

with those mobo and intel im running on ( 2x 2gb )

Current RAM : G Skill F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ
Memory Speed: DDR3-1333 (667MHz)
Memory Type : DDR3 SDRAM
Module Type: Unbuffered DIMM

can anyone suggest any G.Skill Ram i can install coz at the moment im looking at this product

G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1333MHZ PC3-10666 CL9(8GBXL)
$46.00

but not sure if it will fit or not..so any could help me chose a 2 x 4gb would be appreciated thank you.!! =]

I'd go off of what Gigabyte says in their website. As to which revision you have, your board should say it somewhere. If your board is installed it should say "Rev. ???" to the left of the PCI-E slots near the edge.

Thanks for the respond.

2 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory that's what the gigabyte website say in the spec. But watching from user review from YouTube etc, other pc website / memory upgrade compability website only saying maximum per slot can only hold 4gb so (2x4gb) only can reach a maximum of 8gb memory so I'm really lost.

I understand you mention I should just go with what the gigabyte website mention, problem is if I order the wrong ram stick from gskill once open they don't accept refund or return unless it's faulty at the comp shop we have here so yeh just wanna know if anyone know what I should do in order to upgrade to a better memory than 4gb total at the moment.

Thankss

The next thing that I would do is contact Gigabyte and ask them.

i did, and i think that they saying is each slot can hold up to max 8gb meaning total of 16gb so all is good thankss crossedup.!! but ive decided to go with 2x4GB since 16 is just too much and it would be a waste in my case, due to the amount of work i do on the computer wasnt needed. =]

but is it cool if you could tell me whats the difference between these two ram? im kinda noob on these computer stuff still just kinda finally chose a set of dual memory.

G.Skill Ripjaws X for Sandy Bridge
G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1600MHZ PC3-12800 CL9(8GBXL)
Internet Price: $49.00

G.Skill
G Skill 8G(2x4G) DDR3 1600Mhz PC12800 RL 9-9-9-24(CL9D-8GBRL)
Internet Price: $53.00

ive looked up sandy bridge apprently its faster or something so i dont get why its cheaper than standard memory, and standard memory cost more?
