This ^ is an excellent viewpoint on a matter/occurrence like this. It was bound to happen eventually. In fact, things like this have been happening already--just so happens India became ground Zero.
Here is a google search of "viruses becoming resistant to medicines": http://www.google.com/search?q=virus+becoming+resistant+to+medicines&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
I remember seeing a news piece where doctors were worried because people would only take prescriptions until they felt "better" and not as they were prescribed and, it was giving the viruses a chance to mutate and become more resistant. Anything predatory will evolve and find it's opening to attack and flourish.
Didn't read the article. I just know: this was bound to happen eventually; some where; some time.... And here it is.
