Vista and BF2 problems

I load Windows Vista RC1, then BF2. At first BF2 wont work at all, after much fidilling it works, when I try to join a sever it says, "cannot make connetion to server, check your connection". messed with admin and firewall stuff... nothign seems to work. Any suggestions and what I could try??

If your comp can access the net, that would tell me the hardware is ok.
Must be a firewall setting, or other setting.
Thats the problem running new operating systems, not enough experience out there for troubleshooting small issues.
I wish you luck (as I'm not yet skilled with Vista).

i had this problem to what you have to do is go to your program files folder find ea games then battlefield 2, then right click it properties and run it in compatibility for win xp sp2, then close out of that and right click the icon again and run as administrator
