7970 CF+Samsung 27'' LS27A950D or 580 sli+Asus 278h for gaming

Thread Starter
Hi

I was wondering which of these is a better option and i would like to hear some opinions after i researched on the net.
So i would like to play with a 120hz screen which is large enough(27'') in 1080p. Games like skyrim, bf3 and shogun 2.

My question is which set should i choose?

AMD 7970 CF with higher fps but without 3D
or
580 SLI with a less performance but the ability to play in 3D?

Do i benefit of having more fps with the 7970 in games like bf3 for smoother gameplay or of the immersion of 3D in games like skyrim?

I've heard that the 278h i good for 3d but i haven't heard much(or found much) on the web about it.

Thank you!

Have you actually seen what 3D monitors or TVs looks like? I have and I think it is severely overrated...

HD 7970. 3D is not worth the better gameplay. The 3D is almost not noticeable.

Get the HD7970's and no 3D, you can always get a 23" 3D down the road for a probably less then $300 as thats what they are now for the most part. The 7970's will be so much faster.
