I did register both cards sir. The thought crossed my mind.

But I just thought it would be better to slap heatsinks on the cards and not have to use a custom profile etc...

Well, when I run precision around 75% fan speed for both cards, it a little loud, but the cards stay in the low80's or high 70's and never rreally exceed that.

I'm such an OCD -anal freak.

I would honestly rather drop200$ and buy new a case etc... than cut up my case -_-

As you saw in that thread, although two of them just "fit" in an RV-01, they performed terribly, and that's due to the RV-01's vertical card mounting position.
Plus the fact that they are too close together to breathe properly.
Even if you just used one Zalman cooler, which is only doing half the job, the vertical mounting of the cooler in the RV-01 would still interfere with the proper functioning of it.
If you want to keep the RV-01, you would be wasting money buying Zalman or Accelero coolers for the cards.
I've changed cases many times over the years, I bought my current HAF 932 specifically for housing two custom-cooled GTX 480's, or any other future gpu releases.
I certainly didn't buy it for the looks, but it gets the job done, and that's what's most important to me.

I think your right sir.

Funny, I thought spending 230$ on the RV01 and with it's "marketed revolutionary cooling design" would end my woes.

I guess problems will always exists.

I'm probably going to keep things as they are now in mY RV01 since I really did like the case and just use the EVGA precision for a custom, ramped up fan profile. Since school is starting up and im going to need the cash.

Sounds like the best plan. You've got a good chunk of change invested in the RV-01, and it really is a good case. No case is going to be perfect for every requirement.

Ramping up the fans will help keep the temps. down for now, and cost nothing!

My profile looks like an exponential growth curve. Starting at 30C and 40% and ramps up to 100% by 80C they idle at 34 on bottom 36on top. Gaming I rarely see it above 65-70c on either card. It might be a little louder for you though since your case exhausts to the top. In my case they are damn quiet...
