For Sale:
Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 PCI Soundcard (with modded OPAMP)

Will Ship To: UK

My trusty X-Meridian (1st Gen) is up for sale frown.gif

I have modded the Front L/R OP-AMP to a 4562NA only, the three others are stock. - I was using the card with headphones only at the end of it's life, and this tiny upgrade made quite a difference.

Widely appreciated as some of the best PC sound equipment money can buy, I'll be sad to see this go, but it's just sat in a box for the past 6 months. Harder to find now that the 2G is out, but still a worthy card.

What "modification" does the OP-AMP do? We know it changes the sound but, in what way?

The LM4562NA OPAMP gives it more of an analytical sound profile, everything is a bit tighter and more precise. It improves on the muddley-ness, and as a result the bass appears a little softer, but then more precise. I prefer it.

They're only a few quid / dollars each as well, so you could quite easily upgrade all 8 channels for pocket change.

I'm gonna go a limb here and guess that that's a fairly notable increase in quality in the mids?
