p180b Modable

Thread Starter
I have been planning a mod for a while now and what I really want for it is an upside-down case. I don't want to build my own because that would be a little more than I am ready for but it would be could if I could mod a case to fit my needs. Right now I was planning on modding a p180b and I was not sure if, with all the noise dapening material, it is easy or even possible to cut a side window in the case?

Have you by any chance looked into this case?
I've had mine (black version) for quite some time now, and simply love it. The cooling is great, and it already comes with a side window. And of course it has the mobo layout your looking for.

But then again, what's the fun if there is nothing to mod right?

The P180B was my first choice as a case, but the shipping was going to send the price through the roof.

Hope those spark your inspiration. Note that there is a little bit of kinking going from the back radiator tube to the block. The creator told me this and said its a tight fit. Also, the radiator is sorta ghetto-rigged to the ceiling but it works. The loop is so short he actually has the pump on 2/5 and says it works great even with just one fan. I would prefer to keep the top fan, so I will probably mod his design a bit but overall the loop is just amazing.

Kridifur that case does look pretty nice but the side window I was going to make I want to look like the Oblivion symbol so obviously the case can't already have a window. Also I want to mod the front door so that there is the IV symbol on that. All the lighting is going to be red. It is going to be sweet

The p180 is pretty slick, I like it. Although for an Oblivion mod, I think this case has some potential. The front bezel looks kind of Ayelid with those silver posts, it's a reverse-mounted case, and the side grill could easily be modded to the Oblivion symbol.

Sorry to butt in, but WOW! That is nice. Did he move the blowhole shroud to the front to cover a fan, or is just removed for the picture.

He removed the blowhole shroud for the picture, but he also noted that it kinked the tubing a bit when he put it on so a lot of times he left it off. But I mean, its the T-line fill, so kinking shouldnt be a performance issue.

Again, he did an awesome job. He said that he was looking to redo his loop to make it even more efficient (and to allow the blowhole to be used) and said he would PM me with pics in a few weeks. The way he did it is definitely cool, though, and looks to be my gameplan.

If you dont like the idea of chopping into your case, you might want to look into a reservoir to fill. Anyhow, yeah, good times.
