Hey guys
i dont know how this works i want to oc my i7 950 up to like 3.2 ghz or something close to that and check out the temperatures
now if i see it high can i switch all the bios and ai tweaker settings back to default the way they were before?
i dont have liquid cooling so should i go for it or not? any reccomendations for guides will be great and if someone wants to help out that would be great too. biggrin.gif

I would recommend a 4.0ghz OC which should be done easily with good cooling. It would help out your 590. Check into this club and I'm sure you will find plenty of help getting there:

Yes if you overclock and you feel that your temps are too high, you can go into bios and there's an option to reset everything to the default values. Here's a nice guide that should be pretty helpful http://www.overclock.net/t/538439/guide-to-overclocking-the-core-i7-920-or-930-to-4-0ghz

overclock without fear. stress test. dont think that you will burn your processor because it reached 80 or 90c at full load stress testing. this processors are almost impossible to burn because they have really good thermal protection. they will start to throttle down and just shut down if things get hot enough. as long as you keep your voltages under 1.40 you should be fine. i do recommend really decent air cooler at least. you could get one for about 60 dollars. then you are set. many many guides are out there about overclocking this processors.
