Have P8P67-PRO running into dilema sell for MIVE or hope/wait for ROG Z77 please help??

I am concerned that my motherboard is holding my overclock back... im at 4.9ghz with 1.42v set in bios ranges from 1.400/1.408/1.416 but always wondered if another board would help me stabalize higher/lower volts... thats the main reason for swapping the second is I might go CrossFireX 7970s but this board only supports SLI (Asus P8P67-PRO) so my questions...

1. Will changing to MivE or an AsRock Fatality board affect my overclock AT ALL coming from this asus p67 board? (only pci-e 2.0 aswell)

2. Will their be a Republic Of Gamers or other highend board coming for Z77 that would be worth the price premium/wait??

3. What would you do.. Swap out board wait for Z77 to release or keep what I got!? not sure if the volts/oc would change hope so!!

1.) You may get a tiny bit more overclock with a MIVE. If you do, there will be by a small amount. Not worth it, as the P8P67 PRO is a very good overclocker board.

2.) I would say no.

3.) Keep your P8P67 PRO.

Also, the P8P67 PRO supports both Crossfire and SLI. It will run in x8 + x8 when Crossfire or SLI, but you will loose almost no performance VS x16 + x16, since x8 has enough headroom for todays cards.

Keep your board. The P8P67 PRO is an excellent board. 1.42v for 4.9GHz is actually not bad at all.

Most, if not, all P67 boards support CrossFire (if they have two x16 PCIe slots). SLI on the other hand is only supported on a narrow range of boards, primarily mid- to high-range boards. The MIVE is hardwired at 8x/8x when running CrossFire or SLI. The reason is because of the additional latency provided by the NF200 chip which Asus decided to bypass (smart thinking). It does come handy when you want to run more than two cards, giving you a 8x/16x/16x configuration.
