Need some help with opening ports on my router for my PS2

Thread Starter
I bought a PS2 mic today for online gameplay. Sadly, it doesn't work, but works on my PS3.

I looked up solutions but really got nothing. Then I thought maybe my router and PS2 were having issues. I looked up the port numbers but have NO IDEA what to do since my router has never had a problem before.

Here's the link to the help page.

Ports I think that need to be opened or whatever are under the USB Headsets section.
USB Headsets
TCP Port: 80
UDP Ports: 6000 - 7000, 50000, 10070

Can anyone walk me through this? I'm in my Router's configuration now. Router is D-Link DIR-625 under "Port Forwarding".

Also, don't know if this is going to play a factor or not, but I'm using my laptop as a bridge. Router>Wireless to laptop>Ethernet cord to PS2

go to port forwarding in your d-link setup
select ip for your ps3...it should show up...just using laptop as a means to connect...it will probably let you select it from drop down
type in udp ports to open...you can use 5000-6000 in that format...just like it's listed.....just type them in...space between them for the other ones...like this 6000 - 7000 50000 10070
leave everything else like it is...which should say always allow all
hit apply...should be it

I'll try that. Do I also put the TCP port 80 to open? It's listed right above the UDP slot
post #7 of 13
it should be open but won't hurt anything...just treat it like it's hooked directly to router smile.gif

The microphone is connected to the ps/2 via USB? If it's connected directly VIA usb ... the NAT should have nothing to do with it.
