What ever tickles your fancy and you would like to bench with I would suggest.
I suggest a CPU that you are keen to get lots of points for. 2D is a fine art to master and I would suggest you start practising your benching of the Super Pi and WPrime stuff now.
CPU wise RandomOwl will tell you he has been bencing the same CPU for nearly two years now.
If you want to do 3D. You will only really have time to properly bench one or maybe two graphics cards if you are on your game.
Seriously if you are doing the course then pretty much all that you need is provided but if you do have a CPU class that you want to bench go for it. Graphic cards might just be a bridge to far for the first time, it takes some getting used to benching CPU and GPU on LN2 at the same time I can assure you.
