He's right. Last event, I did this:
Set up a Bulldozer board, faffed around for 30 mins trying to put on Dagmar's water cooling (only to realise it had an Intel waterblock on), installed OS. Played around OCing for 45 mins, thought sod that, then fired up the SB-E.
Installed OS on SB-E, spent an hour/90 mins installing OS and software for 03, 05, 06, Vantage, 11 and Heaven.
Cards I got through in the rest of the time:
4670: sod all
3870x2: 05, 06, Vantage
two 3870x2: 03,05,06,Vantage
Set up dual PSUs, then:
3x580: 03,05,06,11-E, 11-P, Vantage, Heaven
4x580: 03, 05, ran out of time
Some of these runs were just single shots that did well, others required some more tweaking (e.g. at one point vantage wasn't playing properly - left it overnight to cool down and worked fine in the morning). But I knew the limits of my SB-E system already, had all the settings mentally programmed in to test. If you're coming in cold, be prepared to spend some time at the beginning to sort a good CPU +memory system underneath.
This event I may pull out the 2600K and go for purely AQ3/3D01 scores on these cards
