Can I run a 6970 on 460w

I want to know if I could run a 6970 on the power supply in my sig, if not do u have any recommendations on a card that will.

It is enough, but it only has one 6pin connector so you'll need to use adapters or get a car with only one 6pin(HD6850).

Dooh, misread that as a HD6870. A 6970 would be cutting it very close.

It's all about amps on your +12v rail. Things like the overclock on CPU and number of HDDs you're running. I think you might be able to do it, with the extra adapter stated above, but it could be pushing it.

If you're going to put that graphics card with your sig rig i wouldn't do it anyway. You will definitely have a bottleneck. Also on the official AMD page, it states 6970 needs at least 550W minimum, 750W Recommend. Maybe go for a 6870? or 6950

I don't understand why I can't edit my posts mad.gif

At first I misread and thought you asked about a 6870, doh.gif

A 6970 would be cutting it really close,

Are there any other cards (nividia/ati) with a little more than 1gb VRAM that would work. Btw my psu has 2 +12v rails at 18amps each
