help with upgrade

Thread Starter
So I have been with this EVGA GTX 470 for sometime now. For Christmas, received a $100 newegg gift card. i have been looking at the EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 448 but not sure if it's much of an upgrade or not.

Gaming has been minimal but do play on 1920x1080 resolution. i can probably throw in $200 cash to get another card maybe some more if i decide to sell my current card.

i just need help with suggestions on what to upgrade too. please any suggestions welcome.

what kind of games do you play? Do you need the card for anything else? (folding, redering etc?)

Going from a 470 to a 560ti 448 is not really an upgrade both perform about the same. Honestly I think you can hold out with the 470 for a good amount of time. I would just say wait until the 7xx series comes out.

yah i know. i was thinking about how it didn't look that much of an upgrade if any all. as for the 7xx series i think they are out and really can't afford the $500 price tag at the moment.

thanks for the replies. any more suggestions??

I think he was talking about the Nvidia 7xx Series, your thinking of the AMD 7000 series that just got released biggrin.gif. But like others have said, I wouldn't do that upgrade, I don't think it's really worth it.
