What games to you recommend?

So I am in the market for a few games for my upcoming (building in a few days) and would like to know whats recommend around here.

I am not into MMO games and find FPS games more enjoyable and fun!

I have around $250 to spend on games and had a few games in mind (to get me started off).

Battlefield 3.

Skyrim.

Minecraft.

Do you think these games are good choices or should I get something else?

Thank you thumb.gif

Any or all of those will keep you well occupied for the next, oh, 5 years - especially Skyrim tongue.gif

Im playing Skyrim now and its the best game Ive played since Total War Rome thumb.gif

Space Marine is not too bad either. Have a look at my reviews (below my avi)

GTA IV (very glitchy but still very fun)
Half Life (all of them)
Shogun 2 (RTS)
Borderlands
Civ V (strategy)

Most importantly

CSS (Awesome FPS)

These are all games I really liked and are usually really popular. CSS is a definate buy for anyone who likes FPS in my opinion.

Don't forget the classics! If you haven't already, get Fallout 3 and Oblivion if you get Skyrim. FO3 is possibly my favorite game, with Skyrim and Oblivion close behind.

-Deus Ex
-Portal 2
-Anything from Valve
-Borderlands
-Bioshock(1, then 2)
-GTA IV
EDIT:
-Assassins Creed (II, then Brotherhood, then Revalations. Get an 360 controller. )
-Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour ( smile.gif )
-World of Goo ( biggrin.gif )

Most of those are old, so you've probably played them all. And those 3 you listed are all good choices.

Thanks for the replies guys/gals (if any biggrin.gif) + rep.

I don't think I will be getting GTA IV since GTA V is coming out this year and I really think that GTA IV wasn't to good compared to GTA San Andreas.

I was also thinking Terraria and CS:S but whats the point of getting CS:S if the new one is coming out and I'm going to get BF3 (which will probably consume most of my life biggrin.gif)

Thanks and keep 'em coming!

The Red Faction Series, particularly Guerilla.
Half Life 1&2
If you liked san andreas, you might like Saints Row The Third
IMHO Cs 1.6 beats CS:S by miles if you don't mind the Minecraft-like graphics biggrin.gif

Just out of curiosity, do lots of people play CS online (and if so which one is more fast paced/popular)? I am really considering a CS game.

I was also wondering about all the Assassins Creed games. I can get EVERY Assassins Creed game for only $113 in Australia (is it worth it because I finished number 2 and played the first one and Brotherhood).

Thanks!

Any Total war game will do, though Rome, Empire or Shogun are recommended.
Those you selected of course
Starcraft 2?
NFS Shift 2 i find it as a good racing game, though some people disagree.
Terraria is good and more rpg'ish than Minecraft
Counter strike is a good one
Call of Duty is good to have to play it once in a while, it's different than Battlefield 3 so if you get bored...
Assassin's Creed series are good, Batman Arkham City and Asylum too
Metro 2033?

There's lot of games worth every dollar out there but i cant remember them all

Thanks SwishaMane and metroid112, + rep.

I was considering MW3 but it would be a waste of space on my 128GB SSD because I will have BF3.

Also my main question is what CS should I get and which one is more popular/played?

Thanks everyone.
