i have several questions,
1 could the fan on the back of my heatsink (80mm not pwm fan) be causing problems?
2 how should i make the airflow go?
a
451
b (current attempt)
451
or c (make your own)

my fans are...
2 fixed 80mm (top of case, window above cpu cooler)
2 80 mm (1 currently on back of cpu cooler)

my cpu temps are 56 idle! i rechecked my tim and it appears to be fine.

psu fan that blows into the case? thats new to me wink.gif
check it again, normally its sucking out.

well with these temps i would re apply new thermal paste and be careful when you attach the cooler.
dont move it around when you screw it down or if it has push pins.

if the system is what you have in your sig, then you are in dire need of a new case. hopefully this time a case with actual air flowing through it...

its really hard to put on my cooler, check a guide for the tx3 on an amd processor. so i do smear the paste. ive used white paste as well as the grey coolermaster stuff that came with my cooler. i think i need to watch a guide on spreading that kind, bc its really difficult. i am about to put an old cpu heatsing on the top of my hard drive and some old mosfet heatsinks on my mosfets. im also gonna rewire the 3pin fanto hook up to my motherboard so it wont be so loud.

Okay first thing do not spread tim!!!! Place a small dot in the center off cpu about the size of a grain of rice, then place the cooler on without moving it as much as possible then tighten evenly.

^this, tim only need to be put on the ihs, not on the complete cpu at all edges. rice corn is totally enough, the pressure of the heatink is doing the rest by attaching it.

you need 120mm fans or 140mm fans, maybe a cooler with more heat pipes would help some. take a picture of how your case is and maybe we can help

so it doesnt need to cover the whole surface? bc i tried that and it made a circle about a half inch in diameter.

also the cooler is REALLY hard to put on without moving it.

It will cover the whole surface once the cooler is tightened down! thumb.gif You will get it some coolers are a pita but with some effort and patience all will work out
