Lowering core temps

Thread Starter
Ok, I started to look into OCing.

For the hell of it I did a two hour stress test with Prime95 with only the multiplier manipulated to 45. After two hours I had no errors but my core temps got a bit high: 70c, 75c, 78c, 74c. According to EasyTuner (Gigabyte App) my Vcore at X45 was .8V-.9V at idle and at 1.308 or 1.320 (mostly the latter) during the stress test.

So my temps are a bit high, so will lowering the Vcore lower my temps?

Thanks,

Kiyamon

search sandy stable club.

lower volts = lower temps.

1.32 @4.5 seems a bit high TBH. my 2600k sits 1.24 @4.4giggawats adn i have HT on.

Your temps are fine. Try to do 12 hours of prime to see if it's stable. If it is, you can call it good; raise the multi, or try lowering the voltage.
